Photo Workshop
September 29-October 2, 2011

Grand Teton National Park is world renowned for its rugged peaks, alpine lakes and abundant wildlife. In the fall, aspen trees displaying brilliant yellow leaves enhance this already spectacular scenery and make for an especially delightful photography experience. It's a perfect time to join Bret Edge and Nat Coalson for a dynamic, hands-on photography workshop!

We'll photograph the sweet light of sunrise and sunset at popular locations such as Schwabacher Landing, Snake River Overlook and Oxbow Bend but we'll also visit some lesser known, though equally dramatic locations. Additionally, we'll have plenty of opportunities to work on creating compelling intimate landscapes and wildlife portraits.

In the field, Bret and Nat will help you develop the skills needed to make photographs that fully express your vision. We'll focus on composition and creativity as well as mastering your camera's many functions. In the classroom, you'll learn how to use Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop for the ultimate creative control over your images.

Throughout the workshop, hands-on demonstrations, lessons and critique sessions will help you refine your image-making skills.

Bret and Nat invite you to join us for a long weekend of photography, friendship and fun in one of America's most captivating locations!

This workshop is open to photographers working at any level. There will be plenty of personal attention for each student. Private and group critiques will be done throughout the workshop to help you develop your work significantly over the weekend. We'll also make sure to have some free time for participants to take a break and do their own thing. (And Yellowstone is just a short drive away.)

Comments from participants in previous workshops:

"This has been an amazing photographic summer for me. I had the good fortune to meet and work with Nat Coalson. . . need I say more? Not one, but two really wonderful location workshops . In June, Nat and Bret Edge (both amazing fine art photographers in the truest sense) led a workshop in the Grand Tetons, Wyoming. In July, Nat led a workshop in Crested Butte, Colorado. Absolutely unbelievable scenery! Nat's relaxed style and generous spirit made both workshops wonderful experiences. I have to admit I'm a workshop junkie, but these two were particularly meaningful for me. For one thing, I learned some technical tips that have made a world of difference. But most importantly, Nat's willingness to listen and respond to my lamenting over photographer's block has been a turning point for me. Nat, thank you thank you thank you for reminding me again and again about photographing with intention! I am starting to get it! Looking forward to working with you again soon!"
Vicki, Wyoming

"This was unquestionably the best workshop I have attended. An almost perfect balance between shooting and image processing/critique, the workshop covered the entire photographic workflow, from pre-visualization to final image critique. I was also impressed with the generous one-on-one time provided by the instructors during the shoots. The suggestions and immediate feedback they provided really made you think about exactly what you needed to do to achieve your vision. Highly recommended!"
Dan, New Mexico
